Riva expands its presence in the superyacht sector with this exquisite new model: the 92 Duchessa. Curved, racy lines harmoniously characterise the profile of this yacht, which captures all of Riva’s inimitable style and elegance in its 28 metres. In a concept featuring unique, original design, Mauro Micheli and his team at Officina Italiana Design have collaborated with Riva’s Technical Office to create a winning yacht.

On the main deck, impressively large windows guarantee as much light as possible in the saloon and dining area. Warm shades of black American walnut, with hand-sewn, leather inserts in the furniture and bulkheads, contrast beautifully with the white varnished wood flooring and the white stone-marble in the dining area. The tonal balance makes for a serenely relaxing and comfortable environment.

The large windscreen, which blends perfectly into the 92 Duchessa’s soaring profile, provides an excellent view from the slightly raised bridge. Here, there is also a comfortable dinette for the crew, with direct access to the flybridge and to the galley which is set on an mezzanine level. A utility room is located beneath the bridge, where additional domestic appliances can be fitted, or it can be used as a storage area. The galley, in the bow, provides access to the three crew cabins, all of which have en-suite bathrooms. This accommodates a maximum crew of five, i.e. a captain and four others. This crew area is entirely separate from the guest areas as it is accessible directly through two doors onto the side decks, thus ensuring total privacy for the owner and guests.

The low set galley and crew quarters have also made it possible to optimise the space available on the lower deck for the four principal cabins. The owner’s suite, located just back from the centre of the boat, is well-lit by large, rectangular windows on either side, with opening portholes at each end to provide natural ventilation. Separating the owner’s bedroom area from the engine room is a full-beam owner’s en suite bathroom, including both a shower and a jacuzzi. As a sound barrier between bedroom and engine room it is particularly effective. The owner’s suite also features a walk-in wardrobe and vanity unit. An exclusive advanced entertainment system designed specifically for the 92 Duchessa enables music and videos to be played in both the saloon and the owner’s suite.

Another two large pairs of windows light the VIP cabin and two guest cabins. Far from detracting from the exterior design of the yacht, they integrate into it perfectly. The two twin-berth guest cabins are in the centre of the boat. Both feature parallel beds, with the windows ensuring plenty of daylight. The VIP guest suite is also full beam, making it almost as large as the master suite. In addition to the four en suite bathrooms there is also a day bathroom on the main deck.

The 92 Duchessa’s classical cockpit features a large teak table that will seat up to eight on a very comfortable sofa and four foldable chairs which stow in the base of the table. An elegant stairway gives easy access to the flybridge. A second, smaller living and lounging area has been created on the foredeck, where there’s a teak table with a six-seater sofa, and a sunbed for up to four people which can be shaded by an awning with easy manual opening.

A brand new feature for Riva is the flybridge hard top. Its crisp line, inclined towards the bow, gives continuity to the yacht’s overall profile, making it more aerodynamic and elegant. Moreover, the special advanced shape of the hard top makes it more effective, providing shade from the sun’s rays at the helm station and the smaller seating area with its teak table and seating for eight. Separating the helm from the main flybridge sundeck is either a centrally-located jacuzzi, or a smart mobile bar in the optional version. A grill and sink are located towards the aft end of the flybridge, to ensure that when they are in use the crew will cause the minimum disturbance to the owner and guests. The substantial size of the flybridge means it can also carry a tender up to 4.20m long, with a small crane for launching and recovery.

Another notable feature of the 92 Duchessa is the transom garage, which can house a tender measuring up to 3.20m or a jet-ski. With the door open, a chaise-longue on runners can be placed inside the garage, creating another area for relaxation, suspended directly over the water.

Equipped with two 2211 hp MTU engines, the 92 Duchessa can reach a top speed of 29 knots, and a cruising speed of 26, with a cruising range of 360 nm. Two ARG 4000 gyroscopic stabilisers guarantee the stability of the yacht both when moored and at sea.

The opportunity to choose from a wide range of fabrics, specially selected by Riva’s Style Office, and to add various commercially available items to the furnishings, make the new 92 Duchessa a
true semi-custom superyacht, able to satisfy the requirements of the most demanding owners.

There are currently twelve models in the Riva collection. This new jewel perfectly fills the gap between the 85’ Opera Super and the flagship Riva 115’ Athena.

* performance is estimated with the following conditions: 1/3 laden, full liquid load, clean hull, 25°C air temperature, good weather conditions, 8 persons on board.
